About Tim Fadgen
I have been a resident of Plantation for 40 years. This is my hometown where I grew up. I attended Plantation schools (Tropical Elementary, Seminole Middle School and South Plantation High School). I am a Plantation boy through and through!I played sports in PAL’s athletic leagues, played in the band (trumpet) at Seminole Middle and South Plantation High and earned my Eagle Scout Award (Troop 175, Plantation Community Church) all in OUR beloved City.
I chose to live in Plantation when I rented my first apartment and bought my first home.
I stayed here because I love OUR hometown and want to be part of the leadership that will lead us into the future.
I am a third generation Certified Public Accountant, following in the footsteps of my grandfather (John F. Fadgen) and my dad (former Plantation City Councilmember Jerry Fadgen). I earned my degree in accounting from Florida Atlantic University. While in college I worked for my dad in his accounting practice, working on various accounting projects and specializing in tax compliance for individuals and small family owned businesses.
After college my professional career started at RSM (formerly McGladrey & Pullen, LLP), the fifth largest accounting firm in the country, as an auditor primarily working with family owned businesses of all sizes and government municipalities and entities. Eleven years ago, I started my own accounting practice working with individuals and family owned businesses being a trusted advisor to their accounting and tax compliance needs. Starting with ZERO clients on day one to a successful accounting practice I have today with 4 employees. I have merged my father’saccounting practice with my own after he passed away in 2018 to continue his business that he started in the City, in the same plaza, on the same street (East Acre Drive) in 1988.
